We will be collecting school supplies from the official SCCPSS school supply list for students at Haven Elementary School, our partner school. Please bring supplies to one of the July meetings to be collected and delivered to the school before the school year begins. For those members who prefer to donate funds, rather than supplies, please give cash or your check to either Andrew Cosey or Kerri Culver, who have graciously agreed to shop for us again this year. |

During the month of September, Rotary Club of Savannah East will be collecting books for Haven Elementary! The books will be used as Speaker Gifts and will then be donated in honor of the speaker to the Haven Media Center. The librarian at Haven has put together an Amazon wish list of books. We are asking each member to write heartfelt messages in holiday cards that we will deliver to local nursing homes & assisted living homes in December. Our ambitious goal is to have more than 400 cards to share with our senior friends & neighbors this holiday season to help them feel remembered and to spread a little cheer. Laura Lane McKinnon will be bringing cards to each of the meetings throughout the months of September, October, and November, so please get yours from her and be sure to return them to her no later than our Dec. 2nd meeting. |

We'll gather together for a reception at The Planter's Inn first, then board a trolley to go to the Tiny House Village to sing holiday carols and hand out small gifts of cookies and treats to the residents. We'll then re-board the trolley to go back to The Planter's Inn. This is a family-friendly activity, so please feel free to bring kids, spouses, significant others, friends, and prospective members! We DO, however, ask that you RSVP so that we can make sure that we have enough seats on the trolley and enough refreshments. |

Savannah Music Festival

Gene Dobbs Bradford, the Savannah Music Festival's new Executive Director, will speak with us about his efforts to make the festival more inclusive and to increase community outreach efforts. He'll share with us some programming details about the 2023 season, as well as the expansion of SMF's educational programs, including the free Musical Explorers program for elementary school students and the free after-school SMF Jazz Academy for local musicians grades 5-12.
