May 21, 2022 9:30 AM - 2:00 PM
The sign-in and equipment table will be at the base of the ramp to the Tybee Pier, just to the south of the City building at 1509 Strand Ave. People can park in either the 14th Street city parking lot, or the lot on Strand Ave. Parking passes will be at the table that participants can put on their dashboard, but they will need to be returned to the organizers after the event. Fight Dirty Tybee will supply everything needed for the clean up, including instructions. Each participant will be equipped with a lightweight bucket & grabber, and can hit the beach between 9:30 and 11 AM, returning everything to the sign-in table when finished. Afterwards, we’ll all be headed to the Pier to hear our Mayor, owner of North Beach Bar & Grill, and the GA field rep from Oceana talk about why a healthy ocean matters so much. We’ll then all link hands to form a symbolic human chain of protection down the beach, will will be filmed via drone by Riverrat Productions. A very fun day! Then, all RCSE members will meet-up at the North Beach Grill for lunch together and some relaxed fellowship! This service project is perfect for spouses, kids, families, and friends to join - all are welcome and the more the merrier!!

Five Steps You Can Take To Persuade People & Inspire Them to Act
Jun 10, 2022 12:00 PM
How would you like to learn a proven way to persuade people and inspire them to act? Attend the Rotary East meeting on June 10 to learn how. Shannon GaNun, a communication professional with more than 30 years of experience, will lead you through a five-step process to organize your thoughts so you can inspire people to act. Known as Monroe’s Motivated Sequence, this method has been used since the mid-1930s by advertisers, politicians, and business leaders to get people to change their minds and behavior. It works because it follows the process of human thinking and leads the listener step-by-step to the desired action. If you master this way of delivering a message, you will be a successful communicator.
