Savannah East News
Despite the weather, RCSE had a great showing of members and guests on Friday.  President Gordon Matthews reminded everyone of the RCSE Oyster Roast on February 22.  It is free for members and $30 for guests.  After all Rotary items were discussed, Laura Lane McKinnon introduced our speaker for the day - GRSP student Mateo Villa Molina who is from Columbia.
RCSE had a packed house on Friday with potential new members as well as visiting Rotarians in the room.  In fact, there were five previous District Governors all in attendance with three of those being members of RCSE.  President Gordon Matthews reminded everyone of the Oyster Roast on Saturday, February 22 and announced to the club that Greenbriar Children's Center received a donation in the amount of $473 from RCSE through money raised in Fines, Happy, and Raffle in Q2.  Once all Rotary business items were discussed, Laura Lane McKinnon introduced our speaker for the day - Dean Burnett who is a Managing Director for Best Business Brokers.
It was wonderful being back at The Pirates House after a long break for the Holiday's.  New RCSE President Gordon Matthews made quite a few announcements with one being to Save the Date for the RCSE Annual Oyster Roast which will be on February 29 at his house on Tybee!  After all Rotary business items were discussed, Laura Lane McKinnon introduce the speaker for the day, Meghan Lowe with Make-A-Wish Georgia.
There will NOT be a meeting this Friday, January 17th due to Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday.  RCSE looks forward to seeing all members and guests at our next meeting at The Pirates House on Friday, January 24th.
