Savannah East News
On Friday, we had two "Red Badge" Member Minutes where Ruth Albright and Bryce Everrett shared personal insights, interests, and a few fun surprises about their lives outside of Rotary.  President Mark Sprosty reminded everyone about the RCSE Membership Survey and the May Social on Wednesday, May 21.  Once all Rotary business items were discussed, Melanie Farrant introduced our speaker for the day, Cecilia Arango, who talked about her journey running marathons.
This past Friday, GRSP student Sonali Mahagamage presented to the club about her experiences in Georgia over the past year.  Mark Sprosty reminded everyone of the RCSE Membership Survey and the upcoming May Social at The 5 Spot on Wednesday, May 21.  Before Sonali began her presentation, Bill Von Alt awarded Sonali the Paul Harris Fellow award!  He then shared an overview of the GRSP program stating that it is an ambassadorial scholarship unique to Georgia that has hosted 3700 students from over 100 countries!
It was a gorgeous day for a RCSE meeting!  Kim Campbell announced that the membership survey would be available throughout the month of May and encouraged all members to take the time to fill it out as it helps in planning.  Once all Rotary business items were discussed, Andrew Cosey introduced Brendan Ferrara and Kate Keiser with EmployAbility, a local non-profit organization that offers enrichment and employment based services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
It was a beautiful day for a meeting at The Pirates House!  President Mark Sprosty asked everyone to mark their calendars for our April social which will be on Thursday, April 17 at Ardsley Station!  Once all Rotary business items were discussed, Kim Campbell introduced our very own Gordon Matthews who gave a presentation about civic opportunity.
