Savannah East News
It was another great Friday at The Pirates House with many members and guests in attendance!  President Jason Jones gave a recap of the Haven Elementary Back to School Breakfast and thanked all members for their contributions in order to purchase school supplies.  RCSE was able to give over $1200 worth of supplies to the students at Haven Elementary.  Once all Rotary business items were discussed, Laura Lane McKinnon introduced our speaker for the day - Emy Crinklaw-Bunch.
It was another lovely day for a Rotary Club of Savannah East meeting!  It was great to see so many members and guests attending in order to hear City of Savannah Manager Jay Melder.  Before Jay spoke, Ed Engel gave Larry Barroll his Paul Harris Fellow pin!  After all Rotary business items were finished, Laura Lane introduced our speaker, Jay Melder.
Although the meeting was moved to the coziest room at The Pirates House, it was still a wonderful Friday at RCSE with Terry Enoch becoming a Paul Harris Fellow and Kim Tanner doing a Member Minute!  President Jason Jones reminded everyone of the Back to School School Supply Drive for Haven Elementary.  Once all Rotary business items were discussed, Tonya Hillis spoke to the club about caregiver burden and burnout.
RCSE started off the 2022-2023 Rotary year with a bang!! We inducted two new members — Bernadette Bryant and Tom Owens.  Welcome to the club!  We also recognized the largest class of new and upgrading Paul Harris Fellows in our club’s history.  Sixteen members were recognized in all! Special thanks to Foundation Chair, Ed Engel, for his work to make this accomplishment a reality.  Once all inductions were complete, Katie Wohlust introduced our speaker for the day, Ret. Col. Richard Noel of the U.S. Army.
