Savannah East News
It was a gorgeous day for a Rotary meeting!  President Laura Lane reminded everyone that 2nd Quarter dues had been emailed and to please pay them in a timely manner.  After all Rotary business items were discussed, Laura Lane introduced our speaker for the day - Kim Tanner who is the VP of Resources and Development at United Way of the Coastal Empire.
It was so nice to meet in person for the first time since March!  Happy dollars were flowing on Friday with members sharing news and celebrating being back at The Pirates House.  President Laura Lane McKinnon reminded everyone that 2nd Quarter dues were sent out and to please pay promptly.  Once all Rotary business items were discussed, Laura Lane introduced our speaker for the day, Christy Edwards with Horizon Savannah.
It was a great Friday for our last official Zoom meeting before offering in person meetings again at The Pirates House on Friday, October 16th.  President Laura Lane McKinnon reminded everyone of the date and that there will be a Zoom link if you are unable to attend and would still like to participate in the meeting.  Once all business items were discussed, Laura Lane introduced our speaker for the day - fellow Rotarian Roy Austin with Libraries for Kids International.
It was another wonderful Zoom meeting this past Friday.  President Laura Lane McKinnon announced that the club will be returning to in-person meetings at The Pirates House on Friday, October 16th.  The Pirates House will provide the members with a boxed lunch that you can eat there or take with you after the meeting.  We will also be using the side door to our meeting room so members do not have to walk through the restaurant.  If you do not feel comfortable attending, a Zoom link will be provided so you can watch from home.  She also reminded everyone that Q1 dues are due and should be paid ASAP.  Once all Rotary business items were discussed, Katie Wohlust introduced her cousin, Naomi Schalm, who talked about Lesotho and her work in that African nation.
