Savannah East News
There will NOT be a meeting this Friday, October 11 due to the Columbus Day holiday. RCSE looks forward to seeing all members and guest at our next meeting at The Pirates House on Friday, October 18.
This Friday, October 4th, RCSE will be taking a Field Trip to the Sheriff's Complex on Chatham Parkway.  The meeting will be from Noon - 1:30 PM and will include lunch and a tour of the facility.  The address is 1050 Carl Griffin Drive, Savannah, GA 31405.  Everyone should park in the visitor parking area - Lot B or Lot D - which are both clearly marked.  There is only one main entrance to the facility.  RCSE looks forward to seeing all members on Friday!

This past Friday, members of RCSE met at America's Second Harvest Food Bank of Coastal Georgia for lunch and to help pack food for people in need.  America's Second Harvest Food Bank of Coastal Georgia serves 21 counties and is on track to supply 19 million pounds of food this year.  The food helps over 160,000 people from children to senior citizens.  Kids CafĂ© was started at Coastal Georgia in the 1980's and is the 3rd largest childhood hunger initiative in the nation.  In true RCSE fashion, the members who attended exceeded the goal that was set for the day by packing 3 pallets instead of 2!  The three pallets equated to 189 boxes, 3780 pounds of food, and 3150 meals served.  RCSE lived out the Rotary motto of Service Above Self.  Way to go Savannah East!
On Friday, September 27, RCSE will meet at America's Second Harvest Food Bank from Noon - 1:30 PM to have lunch and pack food for people in need.  The location of the service project is 2651 Causton Bluff Road.  It is the second warehouse on the left (coming from Riverview Drive).  There is a parking lot directly in front of the building with a "Second Harvest Volunteer Parking" yard sign to help further direct you.  They have requested that volunteers wear closed toe shoes for safety in the warehouse.  RCSE looks forward to seeing all members at the service project on Friday!
