We will be meeting at The Pirates House this Friday in the ANNE BONNEY Room. This is the room directly adjacent to our normal meeting room. It is an IN PERSON ONLY meeting. The side door to the room will be unlocked if you would prefer to use that entrance. In accordance with CDC guidelines, please wear a mask unless you are eating.
Our speaker for this Friday is Judge Tammy Stokes. The mission of the Recorder’s Court of Chatham County is to administer justice with fairness, equality, and integrity, to resolve matters before the court in a timely manner, and to provide courteous and prompt service in a manner that inspires public trust and confidence.
RCSE looks forward to seeing all members on Friday!
It was so nice to have former RCSE member Wade Herring speak to the club this past week. President Laura Lane thanked everyone for their donations to the Back to School Supply Drive for Haven Elementary and also reminded members of the two service projects the following week at P.A.C.K. Once all Rotary business items were discussed, Wade Herring spoke to the club about why he decided to run for Congress.
Wade Herring, a former RCSE member, grew up in Macon. GA. He is the former president of the Savannah Bar Association, chair of the trustees at Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church and board member of Georgia Appleseed. Wade is running for Georgia’s First Congressional District because he believes in America’s Constitutional promise of equal justice for all. Americans created the Constitution to form a nation with the promise of justice, equality, and liberty. He will work to ensure access to these sacred foundations of our democracy for every resident of our district and our state.
Wade has dedicated his career to the law, to Georgia, and to the community we share. He believes in the power of our democratic system to overcome the current discord and gridlock, and he can no longer watch from the sidelines. He is stepping forward to work for our community and the people who live here. To learn more about Wade's campaign, please visit https://www.wadeherringforcongress.com
This past Friday, Andrew Cosey and Laura Lane McKinnon delivered school supplies to Haven Elementary. Thanks to the generosity of our members, RCSE was able to purchase over $400 in school supplies for Haven! Along with the school supplies, the club also donated 30 books to the library. Everyone at Haven Elementary was very appreciative! The Back to School Breakfast has been rescheduled for May during Teacher Appreciation week.
