Details for the April 22nd Meeting

We will be meeting at The Pirates House this Friday in our normal meeting room - Captain Flints Hall.  The side door to the room will be unlocked if you would prefer to use that entrance.

Our speaker for this week is Conni Reynolds who will be speaking about how the Savannah Area Chamber helps small businesses.  With more than 80% of membership being small businesses, the Savannah Area Chamber knows how important this sector is to our community.  Sustainability of these small organizations is a mission of the Chamber and encouraged through various networking events, lobbying efforts, and detailed website exposure. Find out more about exciting upcoming events and business building opportunities as well as learn about business resources to help start, sustain and grow your company!

There will be two new member inductions this week - Ivy Hofstadter and Lindsay Tucker! Please show your support for these new members by attending this meeting. RCSE looks forward to seeing all members and guests on Friday!
NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS
April 8, 2022 - Meeting Recap
Another week and another new member induction for RCSE!  This past Friday, Trice Thornton was inducted to our club - welcome Trice!  President Laura Lane McKinnon announced the sign up is now available for the Tybee Island Beach Clean Up and Social which is scheduled for Saturday, May 21st from 9:30 AM - 2:00 PM.  Foundation Chair Ed Engel reminded everyone about the Object of Rotary.  Once all Rotary business items were discussed, Rotarian Kevin Wade from the Downtown Augusta club spoke to us about Cyber Intelligence, Cyber Security, and the incredible investment in technology infrastructure in the Augusta area.

In 2014, the Army announced it would be relocating Cyber Command to Fort Gordon in August, GA.  This created $1.6 billion in new construction and added 17,000 army personnel to the area.  Due to this influx of cybersecurity, Augusta University started a Cyber and Computer Science degree.  There is now a Global ACE Certification that is offered in Augusta which aims to enhance the skill-sets of the cybersecurity workforce with local and international requirements.

Healthcare records are the most valuable information to steal and fetch the most money on the black market.  90% of cyber criminals gain access to our information through weak passwords.  Kevin founded intelliSystems in 1993 in order to help business implement computer and telecom technology.  Today, many businesses need a consistent line of communication with a tech professional to stay on top of service, maintenance, hardware life-cycle management, next-gen tech, telecom, cybersecurity, risk mitigation, and strategy. In other words, they need a dedicated business technology partner. To meet this need, IntelliSystems offers comprehensive hands-on business technology and cybersecurity solutions.  To learn more about intelliSystems and what they can do to help your business, please visit https://www.intellisystems.com
