On Friday, RCSE welcomed Dr. Steve Curran from Khaki Consulting. Before Steve was introduced, President Kim Campbell reminded all members that Q1 dues were due and that we need to use the front entrance of The Pirates House when coming to a meeting.
Dr. Curran talked to the club about the Peace Index. He discussed how we can use this tool to conquer chaos in our lives as our level of inner peace effects the people around us. There are five key areas to the Peace Index: 1. Purpose - do I get to do what I was created to do? 2. People - do the people in my life have a positive or negative effect on me? 3. Place - do I love where I live? 4. Personal Health - is my mind, body, and spirit in a good place? 5. Provision - do I have the resources to live the life I want to live? Dr. Curran then lead us through an exercise to figure out our own Peace index. He encouraged everyone to make one little change over the next week and discussed how that one change can make a difference in your score. He said we should focus on "controlling the controllables" as many people waste their energy on things that are out of their control.
