On Friday, we moved our meeting to SEDA for a presentation by Renee Leventis who is the Manager of Operations for the Savannah Regional Film Commission.  Before Renee began her presentation, President Kim Campbell reminded everyone of the October and November Service Projects.  Once all Rotary business items were announced and Happy dollars collected, Renee began her presentation.

The Savannah Regional Film Commission is the central point of contact for entertainment production in our region and is a division of SEDA.  Their purpose is to promote the Savannah region as a premier film destination for motion picture, television, and commercial productions. There are over 1600 filming locations in Savannah!  They provide location packages as well as scouting for professional productions.

The Film Commission partners with small businesses in our area in order to promote their services to production crews.  They also provide local film industry training by working with area universities and technical colleges.  Renee mentioned a few things that would be helpful to increase the number of productions in our area such as more direct flights into Savannah and another sound stage for filming.  If you are interested in being a local vendor or have a location for filming, please go to the website and register https://www.filmsavannah.org/
