It was a great meeting on Friday with lots of RCSE members in attendance!  President Cindy Kelley once again reminded everyone of the Holiday Party at Southbound Brewery on Wednesday, December 14.  After two Paul Harris Fellow pins were handed out, Dr. Ed Donoghue gave a presentation on The Rotary Foundation.

Over the past 100 years, The Rotary Foundation has spent over $3 billion dollars on life-changing, sustainable projects.  The mission of The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.  More than 90% of donations go directly to supporting service projects around the world.  Due to these donation, The Rotary Foundation has been able to wipe out 99.9% of polio.  A child can be protected from polio with as little as 60 cents. Also, for every $1 Rotary commits to polio eradication, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has committed $2.
