The start of November has been a great one for RCSE. On Saturday, November 6th, members braved the rain and cold in order to come together for the November Service Project at America's Second Harvest. In just two short hours, members were able to assemble 447 boxes of food! That equates to 8.94 pallets. Each box feeds a family of four for 3 days. That's quite an impact RCSE has made for our community. It's opportunities like this that demonstrate the power that each of us can make. It's 'Service Above Self' come to life!
And then on Tuesday, November 9th, there was a gathering at Tubby's Tank House in Thunderbolt for an evening of fun! It was great to see so many members, spouses, & friends... but best of all, we got to celebrate our friend Gordon with a rousing chorus of Happy Birthday!! Thank you to everyone who has been able to participate in RCSE events over the past week.
Also, don't forget about our ongoing Service Project with Senior Citizens, Inc. The Service Project committee purchased several hundred Thanksgiving cards and we'll be partnering with the Meals on Wheels program of Senior Citizens, Inc. (SCI) to distribute the cards to homebound and isolated seniors the week of Thanksgiving. If you have completed your cards, please bring them to the meeting on Friday, November 12th or Friday, November 19th.
Mark your calendar for December 8th for the December Social where we will sing holiday carols at The Tiny House Village. More details about the event will be forthcoming. RCSE looks forward to seeing everyone then!
