This past week, President Andrew Cosey attended the District Conference where Rotary Club of Savannah East was awarded the Bronze Club Award!  Way to go RCSE!  Andrew praised previous leadership of the club for the ability to win this award.  Before the presentation by visiting Rotarians from Serbia, Andrew and our visitors participated in a flag exchange.

Vladimir Matic presented on how global grants from District 6920 are making an impact on children in Serbia.  He started by showing us photos of how the money has been used with elementary school age children.  The grants have allowed them to purchase mBots which are educational robots for students to use for hands on learning for STEAM education.  The grants also aid in basic education and literary.  Vladimir said that the children in Serbia speak excellent English!  Another grant project is one that has allowed a local district to purchase incubators for premie babies which has helped decrease the mortality rate of babies who are born prematurely.  He then talked about all the benefits that the global grants have provided for Serbia with the main one being making new Rotary friends with Rotarians from Georgia.
