This past Friday, in lieu of having a speaker, RCSE was fortunate to hear from three of our members! President Jason Jones started by reminding everyone that it was the last day to sign up to attend the tour of Mickve Israel on Friday, March 31. Once all Rotary Business items were discussed, the club had two Member Minutes where we learned more about Bill Von Alt and Krista Brown! Bill gave an interactive & unique “choose your own adventure” Member Minute, demonstrating that he is definitely well-suited to working in the tech industry! Next, Krista gave her Member Minute, sharing how she found her way to Savannah just as the pandemic was unfolding & how she eventually found her way to RCSE. After the Member Minutes, John Neely spoke briefly about the upcoming Rotary Friendship Exchange.
RCSE has played a pivotal roll in the Rotary Friendship Exchange. Many members have had a chance to participate such as John who had the opportunity to go to Brazil twice and to travel to India with this program. This year, the Rotary Friendship Exchange is with Argentina. Area Rotarians will travel to Argentina in October. There are still two spots available if you are interested in participating. Rotary covers the majority of the cost of the trip. If you are unable to travel to Argentina and want to get involved, then you can be a host family to six Rotarians from Argentina when they travel to Savannah from April 20th-April 23rd. Mark your calendar for April 21st when the Rotarians from Argentina will be visiting our club!
