This past Friday, RCSE enjoyed a very informative & entertaining presentation from Laura Walker, representing the City of Savannah’s Water Resources department. Before Laura began her presentation, President Laura Lane McKinnon reminded everyone of the upcoming June Social which will be held at Starland Yard on Tuesday, June 28th, from 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM. Although there's no cost to attend, everyone will be responsible for their own tab. Once all Rotary business items were discussed, Laura Walker began her presentation.
A very engaging speaker, Laura gave us an overview of how the City manages & processes our water, gave us a comparison of rates in Savannah versus other areas, and talked about the initiative to survey all of the water meters & pipes — including instructions on how citizens can help in the effort. Thank you, Laura, for explaining how it all works & everything that the City does to serve its citizens with safe & clean drinking water!
