It was a magical Friday at The Pirates House this past week! Before we were entertained by "The Magic Curator," President Kim Campbell reminded members of all the upcoming events in the month of August. She also thanked everyone for their support for the Back to School Breakfast at Haven Elementary. Once all Happy dollars were collected and Rotary business items announced, Cheri Dean introduced our speaker, Mr. Robert Moreland.
Robert gave a very entertaining and interactive presentation. Throughout his talk, he preformed magic tricks and asked for volunteers to help! He said that magic isn't real but it is real in the mind and heart of the spectator. He told us about his background and how he became known as "The Magic Curator." He gave us tips such as "dress for the job you want, not the job you have" and made us think about what customers see when they walk into a business. He offered thoughtful insights on how to discover and embrace magic in our everyday lives. All in attendance were enthralled with his magic tricks! If you would like to see Robert perform, he is the resident magician at the JWMarriott at Plant Riverside and is there every Friday from 6:00PM - 9:00PM.
