For the second time this month, the club meeting was moved to the Anne Bonny Room at The Pirates House.  Even though accommodations were smaller and more cozy, those attending still had a great time and were treated to a wonderful talk from fellow member Steve Acuff.

When asked to summarize his presentation, Steve wrote this:
Ever since the story Frankenstein was published people have dreamed of creating artificial life. The movie 2001 a space Odyssey showed a computer named Hal trying to take over the mission to Jupiter because it was too important to allow humans to be in control. Now in the 21st-century computers really are in control in many ways and in maybe five years they will “wake up”
and then develop much faster than humans. Will we be in their way? “whatever in the world could go wrong”?
During this presentation no one fell sleep.
