Leslie Mattingly
Puerto Rico Project

Leslie Mattingly and her husband, Fmr. US Senator Mack Mattingly (GA), have worked in Puerto Rico since 1977, largely through the Conservation Trust.  Following the hurricanes of 2017, they worked hand-in-hand with staff there -- full-time for over a year -- to do all they could to help.  A strong Rotarian of several decades, Leslie worked hard to mobilize an "army" of 250 skilled, experienced PLN staff members, together with Rotary to develop a large and successful sustainable agriculture program.  Funded by a Rotary Global Grant, with support thus far exceeding $400,000, they're supporting an island-wide program of economic development through sustainable agro-ecology.  The program trains farmers and creates an entire economy chain for fresh produce and food across Puerto Rico. The project is now in Phase 2 and Leslie will be giving us a detailed overview.
