Our speaker for the meeting this week is Scott Scheidt with Seimitsu. “Cyber-attacks occur every 39 seconds and as a small business you need to protect yourself, your staff, and your clients,” says Scott. Business owners work endlessly to build the trust of their clients and employees. If there is a security breach of private information, there is nothing more grounding than having to send out a mass email to all of your clients and employees that there was a breach of security on your client’s private information. This presentation will cover:
• how to discern if your information is on the dark web
• understanding the cost of a cyber breach
• discover different ways your business or organization may be at risk
• learn the measures to take to better protect your organizations for clients, as well as in-house

This past Friday, RCSE met at Java Burrito for lunch! After a delicious meal of chicken, steak or veggie burrito, President Andrew Cosey reminded everyone of the upcoming October Social which will be held on Thursday, October 26th, at Tubby's Tank House in Thunderbolt. Once all Rotary business items were discussed, our group walked one block over to the entrance of the Davenport House Museum for a talk about Historic Savannah Foundation and their preservation efforts.
Once inside, the leadership team of HSF introduced themselves by giving us their backgrounds and how they came to work for HSF and the Davenport House Museum. The room where we were located had a timeline of the history of preservation in Savannah. The HSF offices used to be on the ground floor of the Isaiah Davenport House. Recently, they moved the offices, welcome center and gift shop across the lane after they restored the old pharmacy on Broughton Street. This move allowed HSF to open up the ground floor of the Davenport House where a new exhibit focusing on the enslaved people of the house will open on November 9th. The combined knowledge of the HSF staff and members of RCSE made for a very interactive and educational presentation.
