This Friday, we will be meeting at The Learning Center at Senior Citizens Inc which is located at 3025 Bull Street 31405.  Roger Smith, Director of The Learning Center, will be giving a presentation titled "The Mysterious Case of Oglethorpe's Grave." This lecture explores the little known story of the 1920's search of the grave of Georgia's founder James Oglethorpe and a failed mission to bring Oglethorpe back to America. 

RCSE will NOT be meeting this Friday due to Presidents' Day Weekend. 

 

We will not be meeting this Friday due to the Annual RCSE Oyster Roast on Saturday, February 22.  We hope to see all members and guests at this wonderful event!

Please mark your calendars for the annual RCSE Oyster Roast on Saturday, February 22nd from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM.  Gordon Matthews has graciously agreed to host us at his home on Tybee Island.  There will be a sign up for this event at the meetings or you can RSVP to Kerri at rotarysavananheast@gmail.com. This social is free for all members and is $35 per guest.  RCSE looks forward to seeing everyone at the Oyster Roast!

 

This year, we are adding a service project component to our Oyster Roast!  We are asking all those in attendance to bring a new book ages 17 and under that will be donated to the Children's Hospital at Memorial. 

 

Darrell Naylor-Johnson, SCAD Savannah Vice-President, will give us an update on the college.  He joined SCAD in 1992 as a professor and was promoted to Vice-President in 2022.  In his role as Vice-President, he serves as an ambassador to the Savannah community and oversees the leadership of the university's Savannah location, promoting success across all SCAD Savannah departments and areas.
