Helen's book, Breach of Trust, is her debut novel which is set in Savannah and Tybee Island. Although inspired by true events, the book is a fictional tale about a woman, Anne Gardner, and the obstacles crime victims face when trying to navigate the criminal system. Helen was able to use her time as Director of the Victim-Witness Assistance Program in Chatham County to aid in her writing. The book has political corruption, violence, crime and a little bit of humor! Helen volunteered at Deep Center and the children she worked with inspired her to start writing. It took her 10 years to complete her book. Her writing critique club was instrumental throughout the whole process. As a first time author, Helen faced struggles in getting her book published. The best way to support a new author is to invite them to book clubs, invite them to meetings, and write reviews for their books. Reviews really help with sales! If you would like to purchase Helen's book, it is sold locally at The Book Lady, Barnes and Nobles, and can also purchased online at Amazon.
