Details for the March 27th Meeting

We will be meeting at The Pirates House this Friday in our normal meeting room - Captain Flints Hall.  Please enter using the FRONT ENTRANCE!

Our speaker for this week is Mark Lindsay who is the CEO of the Frank Callen Boys & Girls Club.  In this presentation, he will share the inspiring 108-year legacy of Savannah’s first Boys & Girls Club — and how it continues to shape the lives of more than 1,000 local youth each year. Mark will highlight the Club’s transformational programs in STEM, arts, and leadership, exciting new partnerships with organizations like SCAD SERVE, and the organization’s vision for expanding access, safety, and opportunity for the next generation of Savannah’s young leaders.

RCSE looks forward to seeing all members and guests on Friday!
NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS
March 21, 2026 - Rise Against Hunger Service Project
What a great afternoon of service and fellowship!!!  RCSE joined forces with our friends from South and West to pack 10,000 meals for Rise Against Hunger—meals that will help feed children in need across the globe, including in India, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, and beyond.  It was especially meaningful to see families, friends, and even some future Rotarians pitching in.  Rise Against Hunger’s work goes beyond a single meal, helping communities build long-term food security through nutrition, education, and economic opportunity. RCSE was proud to play a small part in something much bigger.  Moments like these are what Rotary is all about: showing up, working together, and making a real difference.
March 20, 2026 - Mary's Place Service Project
We didn’t have our usual meeting this week, but a few members took the opportunity to engage in some meaningful service.  They gathered at Mary’s Place to pack harm reduction kits funded through the Georgia Opioid Crisis Abatement Trust. These kits will go directly to non-profit organizations and individuals in our community who need support, resources, and care.  It was a simple act, but an important one. Addressing the opioid crisis requires compassion, practicality, and a willingness to meet people where they are.  Grateful to everyone who showed up, including a few members not pictured here, rolled up their sleeves, and contributed to this effort.  This is what service looks like.
March 13, 2026 - Meeting Recap
Another Friday the 13th, but there was nothing scary about this Rotary Club meeting! We had a new member induction  - welcome to the club Victoria Saxton!  We were were delighted to host Lola DeWitt and her team from Live Oak Public Libraries.  Lola, who is the Executive Director at LOPL, presented an overview of LOPL's new strategic plan which will support literacy, community, and connection throughout the LOPL service area.
