Details for the August 22nd Meeting

We will be meeting at The Pirates House this Friday in our normal meeting room - Captain Flints Hall.  Due to recent circumstances, the side door of Captain Flints Hall will NOT be unlocked.  The side door to the Anne Bonny room will be unlocked if you would prefer to use that entrance.

Dr. Ross, Founder and Owner of the Institute for Personalized Medicine, will give a presentation titled "Maintaining Brain Vitality in a Chaotic World." She will help us understand the growing brain health crisis and why it affects everyone, regardless of age, and teach us five simple strategies that we can implement today to improve cognitive health, enhance memory, and prevent cognitive decline.

RCSE looks forward to seeing all members and guests on Friday!
NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS
Guest Meal Policy
The RCSE Board is excited to share that we're seeing our highest regular meeting attendance since 2020! We are thrilled to see so many of you each week at the Pirate's House; it's a great sign our club is thriving. Because the number of meals we are purchasing has increased, we need to revive our guest meal policy, which we have not observed since before 2020.

The RCSE Guest Meal policy is: members pay $10 for each guest they bring, which covers approximately half the cost of each meal. Each member can choose whether they will bring payment in the form of cash or a check to the meeting or be billed for the total number of guest meals at the end of each quarter with their regular dues.

We will start formally observing this policy with the start of the quarter in October. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to Kim or any other member of the RCSE Board.
August 15, 2025 - Meeting Recap
This past Friday our meeting was all about Membership!  There were three new member initiations.  Welcome to the club Amy, Chris, and Meketa!  We had two Member Minutes where we learned more about Melanie and Luke.  Then, we had three members move from Red to Blue Badge.  Congratulations to Kate, Melanie and Ruth for completing all the necessary steps!  Finally, President Kim Cambell and Laura Lane McKinnon spoke about Rotary Companion Clubs.

A Rotary Companion Club is a club for individuals who would be great Rotarians but can't attend lunch meetings.  As a member of a Rotary Companion Club, the member would pay dues but at a discounted rate as lunch would not be included.  They would be invited to all of our social and service projects. In order to start a Companion Club, there needs to be a minimum of eight people willing to join in this capacity.  If you know of anyone who you think might be interested in this, please contact Laura Lane or Kim.  And as one member phrased it at the end of the meeting, RCSE is all about fun, friendships, and fried chicken!
