Dr. Ruth Albright founded the Savannah Music Academy in 2018. She is a seasoned piano educator with over 20 years of experience in both public schools and private instruction. She offers dynamic group piano lessons for children aged four through high school.  Her lessons, available both online and in-person, are rooted in research that highlights the myriad benefits of music education, including enhanced memory, improved mathematical skills, and boosted self-confidence. 

Bruce will describe the partnership between his Rotary club and the organization he founded: Agua del Pueblo. Bruce will encourage members of our club to visit the projects in Guatemala.

Trip Tollison will provide an update on SEDA. 

Col. Thomas will inform Coastal Georgia why the Air Froce War Fighter wants to train in Savannah. He will also discuss how Savannah is preparing the next generation of fighter pilots.

Just who was Paul Harris? And what is the Rotary Foundation? Join RCSE on Friday, August 16 to learn the answers to both of these questions, hear from three of our club's most incredible Rotarians, and learn how you to can become a Paul Harris Fellow.

We will be heading back out to Tybee Island on Sunday, 18th, from 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM to help our friends at Fight Dirty Tybee clean up the beach!  All equipment will be provided.  The meeting point for this service project is 1590 Strand Avenue. 

Our own Terry Enoch will share an update on all the work Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools are doing to keep students and staff safe as the new school year begins. Terry is the Chief of Police for Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools.

We have two wonderful presenters this week! Our GRSP student Sonali Mohagamage will start our programs sharing about herself and home. After Sonali's presentation, Jonalyn Lavaris will talk about what yoga is, the impacts of her trauma-informed yoga practice, and demonstrate how yoga is for everyone!

Dr. Foley, President of Savannah Technical College, will be giving us an update on the school.  Dr. Foley was appointed President in April 2024.  Prior to his tenure at
Savannah Tech, he served as the Executive Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs for Ogeechee Technical College (OTC) in Statesboro, Georgia.

Join us this Friday to help us put together Welcome to the World packages during our meeting.  This will be our October Service Project.  These care packages will go to new mothers in Panama, Guatemala, and right here in Savannah. 

Chief Joseph ole Tipanko of the Ngong Hills of Kenya will discuss the culture and lifestyle of the pastoral Maasai and also provide cultural dancing and singing. He has made similar presentations across the East Coast and in the Western US. These trips serve as fund raising methods for the Maasai. Funds have gone to providing a well, feeding programs, health clinics, educational programs and most recently a rescue center for young ladies who need support.

Lizann Roberts will share what Coastal Georgia Indicators does and how the organization improves the Coastal Georgia community well-being by tracking local data related to health, quality of life, economy and education. She will share how to quickly access the data, how the group works with local organizations and what data is available. CGIC hosts and regularly updates the largest data hub in the Savannah area community with 250 community-level indicators covering four coastal counties. This data helps improve community well-being by engaging and leading the community to work collectively in its development of strategic priorities that guide policy, programs and resource allocation. CGIC is the responsible organization for the development, and with partners, the implementation of the Chatham Community Blueprint. CGIC has strength and capacity related to leadership, management, systems and partnerships.
