Dr. Watts, the superintendent of SCCPS, will be giving us an update on Savannah Chatham County Public Schools. She aims to rally a village of educators, administrators and parents around raising students' literary rates.

The Annual RCSE Holiday Party will be held on Tuesday, December 17th, at the home of Andrew Cosey from 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM.  Please join your fellow Rotarians for a night of cheer as we celebrate the holidays!  For every person who attends, we are asking that you bring one unwrapped gift that will be donated to CASA.  Savannah Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) mission is to recruit and train volunteers to advocate for the best interests of children who have experienced abuse and neglect. The toys collected will be given to these children.  Please RSVP for this event in order to ensure there is plenty of food and drink for everyone.  Spouses and potential members are welcome to attend!  

City of Savannah Municipal Archives staff Luciana Spracher and Kelly Zacovic are bringing the Great Savannah Game Show to RCSE! Join us for a fun program of Savannah history and trivia formatted in the style of classic game shows.

Executive Director and Founder of Tharros Place, Julie Wade, and Kate Templeton, Tharros Place's Outreach Coordinator, will discuss human trafficking in Chatham County. Although this subject is heavy, the project of Tharros Place is inspiring. Tharros Place is the first residential facility for minor survivors of human trafficking in the Chatham County area. Julie and Kate will share how to protect our community from trafficking, how to identify signs and make reports, and share how to support survivors in our area. 

Savannah writer Wanda S. Lloyd, author of the memoir COMING FULL CIRCLE: From Jim Crow to Journalism, will describe her path -- from growing up in the Deep South during the era of Jim Crow, to rising to leadership positions in the nation's newspaper industry.

For our March service project, RCSE will be helping on the animal care shift at Coastal Pet Rescue. We will be cleaning kennels and cattery rooms, putting out food, dog walking, scooping litter boxes and play yards, and helping to put away supplies. Wear closed toe shoes and clothes that can get dirty!

What started as a single race turned into a journey of self-discovery, resilience, and connection. Cecilia Arango shares the triumphs, challenges, and transformative experiences from running marathons in 31 states (hopefully 34 states by May 9) — and counting. Along the way, she's learned valuable life lessons and witnessed common threads that unite us across the miles. This talk is about more than running; it’s about what it means to move forward, one step at a time, and to see the world through a runner's lens.

Join your fellow Rotarians on Wednesday, May 21, from 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM at The 5 Spot in Habersham Village!  All members are encouraged to bring family, friends, and prospective members to this fun and casual social event.  Although there is not a cost to attend, everyone will be responsible for their own tab.
