Dr. Frum became the interim President at Armstrong starting in June and has enjoyed her time learning about all the school and Savannah has to offer.  She especially appreciates the help Joe Buck has given to her during her time at Armstrong.  She believes Savannah is full of opportunities for higher education. During the planning process of the consolidation of Armstrong and Georgia Southern, everyone has been deliberate about putting the students first.  The Armstrong campus will gain 11 new academic programs.  Dr. Frum stated that workforce development is important and we need to increase the number of Georgians who enter the workforce with college credentials. 

Dr. Hebert, who is and will continue to be President of Georgia Southern, also touched upon the importance of Georgia Southern’s ability to meet the workforce and community needs.  He firmly believes the consolidation of both universities will help accomplish this goal.  The new Georgia Southern University will have three campuses and around 27,000 students.  The economic impact will be more than $1 billion on the local economy when the merger takes place in January 2018.  He is very excited about what the future holds and always welcomes any feedback and input.
