We will be meeting at The Pirates House this Friday in our normal meeting room - Captain Flints Hall. The side door to the room will be unlocked if you would prefer to use that entrance.
Our speaker for the meeting this week is Bob Ohrablo who will be presenting to us about Savannah's new ice hockey team - Savannah Ghost Pirates!

RCSE Charity
At the Board meeting this past week, the Board voted to reenact the RCSE Charity of the Quarter but with a new twist! This time, instead of donating at the end of the quarter, donations will be made to a charity once $1000 is raised through Raffle, Happy, and Fines (be on the lookout for more details about this!). At the August 26th meeting, we will draw for which charity will receive the first $1000 and we need your help! Please come to the meeting with a charity in mind that you can write on a slip of paper. If you are unable to attend on August 26th, you may email Kerri at rotarysavannaheast@gmail.com with your suggestion.
What a great day to be at a Savannah East meeting! Victoria Baylor moved from Red Badge to Blue Badge and Larry Zalinksy became a new member of our club! After all Rotary business items were discussed, Laura Lane McKinnon introduced our speaker for the day, Sara Castle, with iResearch Savannah.
iResearch Savannah is a privately held business that is funded through pharmaceutical and biotech companies who want to have clinical trials on their products. There are three different types of clinical trials: double blind studies, single blind studies, and open label studies. Clinical trials help deliver care to people who need it. iResearch specializes in CNS trials and currently has many studies underway.
Sara then spoke about memory trials and answered the many questions our members had about this topic. She says it is important to have participants enroll for memory trials before diagnosis and at their office, they offer free memory assessments.
